Train each body part once in a 7 day period The body builder split is where you work each muscle group once in a 7 day span, but in a lot more depth i.e. focuses more on the stabiliser muscles. It would look something like:
Monday: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps
Wednesday: Quads, Hamstrings, Calves
Friday: Back, Biceps.
This allows more intensity to be used as there is longer for recovery. Each muscle can be focused on individually, and isolations can be used a lot more than sparingly to single out specific muscles.
