Breakfast Of Champions – First Meal Of The Day

Get Big then eat a Big Breakfast!
When we wake up in the morning, our body has gone some 8 odd hours or sometimes even more with out food, and is primed to absorb nutrients to stop muscle catabolization. This is the breakdown of muscle tissues of which we really do not want.

So now we know that this process is simply the body breaking down muscle tissue for energy, so we want to supply it with food it can burn. This is a good time to get a good portion of your daily carbohydrates in now to fuel the rest of the day. Simple sugars can be consumed here too with out too much to worry about. You ideally want a quick digesting form of protein too. So an example breakfast would be:

Breakfast:
Rolled Oats (Complex Carbohydrate)
Banana (Simple Carbohydrate)
Orange Juice (Simple Carbohydrate)
Egg Whites (Protein)

You really want to avoid fat in the morning as it will slow digestion down, and due to the fact this is your first meal of the day you will want the nutrients as quick as possible. The above is just an example as things can be substituted such as the egg can be replaced with Whey Protein (preferably in water, as milk will slow down digestion).
