Grow Big Arms from nailing the basics
Big arms need to be look at a whole, not just the bicep muscle that we all initially think of. The arm is made up of popular bicep, the brachialis and the triceps. To build a large powerful arm all these muscles need to be worked with equal dedication to build the over all arm.

If building arms the size of water melons was easy then we would all have 18 inch plus arms, but the truth is they are a product of pure dedication and patience. Genetics of course play a part in the growth of larger arms and a solid nutrition plan supplying your body with everything you it needs to grow.

If you are after big arms and all you do is dumbbell curls you are cutting your self short. The triceps is the largest muscle in the arm due to its having three heads, so if big is what you are after then you need to focus on them as much as you do your biceps.

Not only do you have to work all the muscles in the arm but you also have to work the rest of your body too. Big arms from doing squats and deadlifts? Yes, as they exercises work more muscles and help release more hormones which participate in the bigger picture.

Like any other muscles, your arm muscles must not be over trained. Many users may end up training them too often or for too long as they want to get their big arms fast. Just like any other muscle you train, do not hit them with sets after set of unnecessary training once you have work them to an adequate level to stimulate growth. Recovery is just as important and nutrition. Remember, no matter how could you routine is, if you do not eat big and get enough rest your will not grow full stop let alone your arm size.

Arm specific exercises should revolve around the big well known mass builders like barbell curls, dips and skull crushers. You need to be lifting challenging weight in a control fashioned with no swinging, momentum, etc. Always favour for exercises like a barbell bicep curl over a single arm dumbbell preacher curl if it allows you to use more weight in the same safe, controlled technique.

Remember big arms come from eating big, lifting big and getting all the rest your body needs to grow. Big arms dont come from isolating them, the come from taking as much passion for working your arms into working the major muscles groups just as hard.
