Helpful SEO Information and Tips We are going to start at the beginning, from the start! Imagine you do not have a website, no domain, nothing! When it comes to trying to maximize your chance with search engines then every little trick in the book needs to be addressed.
First we have to pin point your market to target. The audience you wish to attract will play a part in the content you will have to write and search terms you are going to have to use.
Let us start with the domain! This is the first part of the puzzle when a search engine robot comes to your site, so why not have the search term in here!? Get a domain specific to what you are trying to achieve. If you aiming your content to the car market, then mention cars in the domain name!
Now we want to build a site. Get the design sorted with the site navigations down to a T. When it comes down to making your site success you need to have constructed your site efficiently and effectively. For example categorizing pages to folders of which are similar, i.e. storing all you gym pages in the same gym directory folder. This may sound unimportant, however structuring your site while it small is key for when it grows.
When we come to writing content it needs to be meaningful, have a purpose! We want to write as much quality content as we can with out spamming or duplicating information. Finding a balance between good quality information people want to read and the quantity of information can be tricky. Each topic you select to write about needs key phrases in place, through out the entire document. Select something relevant and catchy.
Keywords can not be spammed throughout a web page as this will get you no where. They need to be cleverly integrated to free flowing text, headings, and anchor links. Try and get you key phrase in to a well bodys information page 3 or 4 times without standing out as spam. If you must, re-write your content to accommodate the search terms. Stay on topic with each page and do not babble on about rubbish that is of no relation to the key phrases selected. Remember, when writing your content must be aimed at the user not the search engine robot so always aim to please your visitor over tricking search engines into ranking your site highly.
The most common search engines terms you might have come across are the Meta tags such as Meta title, meta description and meta keywords. These are not as important as they used to be however none the less should be having attention paid too. All the meta tags should reflect the content and should be specific to the visitor you are trying to cater for. Use anchor text on all links and alt tags on images all relevant to the topic on the page. Link to other internal pages that might reflect your message on the page too. Keep to the point and do not span and you should be on track for a decent ranking page.
